To ensure long-term durability and protection from the elements, the DSVTA should be painted with a quality exterior-grade paint prior to installation.

Additionally, apply a bead of 100% silicone-based caulking around the exterior edge of the adapter before securing it in place. This will help create a weather-tight seal and prevent moisture or debris intrusion.
